22 weeks

At 22 weeks:

*In between regular clothes and maternity clothes. Finally switched to maternity jeans last week.

*Think I am feeling more movement?

*Face is breaking out like a 13 yr old girl

*Lots of hip and back popping and aching but otherwise feeling great

*Get short of breath quickly

*Trying to eat healthier but still craving crappy cheeseburgers and fries

*Less braxton hicks this week. Probably because Ive really been pushing the water

*Baby is the size of a papaya

*Ella still talks about the baby several times a day and her excitement has not lessened in the slightest.

*I have to admit Im feeling pretty darn excited about this baby as well. While I had major hesitations about adding to our family when I first found out (later blog post), I couldnt be happier. I am loving life right now. Loving my current family and the fact that we will soon be adding to it.

Yummy Healthiness

Ella loves smoothies and we are always trying different ingredients. It turned out pretty darn yummy for both mommy and Ella's liking.

Ingredients:

1 banana
1cup of frozen berries
1cup of tropical frozen fruit blend
handful or so of fresh spinach
1/2 cup to 1 cup of soy milk or almond milk
squeeze of honey

using the frozen berries helps to eliminate having to use ice

Yummy, Pretty, Healthy.....

And Voila....

Kidlet approved and Mommy approved...

Ella sucked down a huge glass of it and I had one as well.

Try it, you'll like it (and so will your body)

Spring is springing

I cannot believe how nice the weather has been this past week. We have been taking full advantage of it. One evening after I picked her up we spent over two hours outside before we even walked in the door.
I also cannot believe how much the plants have already come up....

Ella absolutely loves digging in the dirt. That girl will dig with a shovel, a stick, even her fingernails...makes no difference to her

And lately she has been digging for "golden treasure". I have no idea where she got this phrase from; however, the other day she happened to find the "golden treasure".......

And when it was all said and done, decided to use sidewalk chalk as make up. Oh the personality on this child.

The Lorax

We took Ella to see The Lorax last night. Really cute movie, amazing animation, and great story line. Ella was excited all week in anticipation of the movie. She did a really great job. We made it through the entire movie aside from one quick bathroom break. She actually watched the entire movie from her seat except for about five minutes of standing at the railing watching. She was still talking about the movie tonight at bedtime.

“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” ― Dr. Seuss

Friday was Dr Seuss birthday and Read Across America Day. In celebration, Ella had Dr Seuss day at school. Of course she had to wear her Dr Seuss shirt.

And have a little....

And some cupcakes....

And even do a little 1 fish, two fish counting....

I sent all ten of Ella's Dr Seuss books for the kids to read as well as her Dr Seuss cd.
We ended the weekend by going to see The Lorax tonight (pics tomorrow)

and those who matter don't mind”

Halfway!

I've reached the halfway point! I cannot believe how quickly this pregnancy is going!
We had our 20 week ultrasound yesterday morning. Im always a bit nervous heading into the 20 week ultrasound and what may or may not be discovered. All went really well and everything looks right on track with the baby. I also got answers to why Im not feeling the baby move much. The placenta in this pregnancy is anterior (front) which makes it more difficult to feel the baby's movement in the earlier stages of pregnancy. The midwife shared that with each pregnancy the placenta will attach to a new area. With Ella the placenta was posterior (back). Once the baby grows larger and the placenta begins to move upward with the growth of the stomach, I will feel the baby more and more.

It's amazing how each day I am more and more in love with this little pickle. And like Ive said so many times already, Ella's fascination with this pregnancy and the baby never ceases to amaze me.
