HAPPY 5 MONTHS!

How quickly time flies! Ella is already five months old! We didnt do any fancy poses this time for her monthly picture. As you can see by the pj's, this was quickly done before bedtime. Its common for breastfed babies to go up to seven days or longer without a bm. Ella is on day 7 so we thought we would just try some prune/apple juice. She DESPISED it. We tried sippy cup (she loved the cup, hated the juice), bottle, and spoon. I don't plan to give Ella any liquids besides milk and water in the long run anyways so I guess its really not a loss. Hopefully nature takes its course. In the meantime, Ella continues to be her happy go lucky self! As you can see in some of the pics, Ella's eczema tends to flare up and right now its all over her body! There isn't much we can do aside from Cetaphil bodywash and lotion! Poor baby!

Ella helping daddy vacuum

side note to last blog:

Right after the pictures of Ella in the black and white outfit, she fell forward out of the boppy and bumped her head (she never falls out of the boppy!). She ended up with her very first bump on her head! i think in the long run it was more traumatic for mommy!
Ella loves sitting up and playing with her toys and as you can see puts everything in her mouth! She literally attacks her toys. Shes been sucking her bottom lip a lot lately so maybe she is teething??? Ella tried peas yesterday and its the first food that made her gag at each bite; however, she seemed to want more! She was fussy yesterday, which never happens, so maybe the peas didnt agree with her after all. Thanks Sandy for the adorable black and white outfit that Ella is finally able to fit in!

Christmas

Christmas Day started at grandma Joyce's house for Ella to open presents for the very first time! She actually did a great job getting the paper off on her own. We headed back to Cincinnati to finish off the day with just the three of us. We did not think ahead about having groceries for dinner tonight, and with everything being closed, opted for Chinese take out! (sorry the pictures are in reverse order!) Sunday is Christmas with grandma Joanne!

Christmas Eve

Ella, Tom, and I traveled to Botkins for the annual Paul family Christmas Eve get together. I had a ton of anxiety about throwing off Ella's nighttime routine. The get together starts around 7 pm, which is a half hour shy of Ella's bedtime. Im both proud and a little embarrassed to say that Ella has had the same bedtime routine for the last 3.5 months! Ella actually passed out about a half hour after arriving with over 30 loud people in a room (check out the photo of the her blankie over her face, passed out). I was a bad mother and woke her up to take a picture with Santa. I couldn't resist as my uncle Lynn plays Santa each year for the kids and I didn't want to miss a photo opp. Ella chose to stay awake for the remainder of the party. She practiced her vocals by trying to out talk and out yell all the other party goers. She stayed up until midnight and did not have one moment of fussiness!
