APPLE!

Last night at dinnner an apple was laying on the table. Ella kept pointing at it so we handed it to her. Much to our surprise, she shouted out apple, saying it perfectly! Tom and I did not even know that she knew the word apple! We text the sitter who informed us that the little girl at the sitters had done a lesson on apples with Ella Friday and that she'd be thrilled to know Ella remembered! Ella then proceeded to eat the apple long after we were done with dinner.

Ella's first 5k

Ella ran her first 5k with mommy on Saturday; however, mommy did all the work while Ella just strolled along! The race was The Ladies Distance Classic, which is an all womens race with around 1600 women running. Ella and I ran with a small group of women from the Cincinnati Family Enrichment Center where Ella had taken music a couple months back. Daddy came with us to offer tons of support and take pictures! Thanks daddy for getting up at 6am to go watch us run!

One year check up

Ella had her one year pediatrician appointment today which was exactly one year from our very first pediatrician appointment. She weighed 20lbs 5oz (45th percentile) and 29 3/8inches long (60th percentile). According to Dr Leanza Ella is "brilliant as far as receptive and expressive language capabilities, right on track with gross motor, and above average with fine motor skills".
I realize this a public blog site and it is this way for easy accessibility for grandmas. We are very proud parents of our smart and beautiful daughter. We will continue to be proud of our daugther til the day we die as this is one of the many and most important roles of a parent. The intent has never been to offend people that read this blog; however, if it does you have the choice to avoid it in the future.

1st Birthday Party!

We had such a nice time at Ella's first birthday party yesterday. The food, cupcakes, and decorations were beautiful and I could not have made it happen without the help from my friends and family. A special shout out to Grandma Joyce for all her hard work with the cupcakes and decorations. Thanks to daddy for Ella's first roses. Ella received so many wonderful toys and has spent all day today playing with them. I dont think that there is a single toy received that she has not played with today! As I predicted, Ella was not too interested in the cake or icecream and after a couple minutes signed "all done" and wanted nothing else to do with it!
Thanks to all of you who celebrated Ella's first bday with us and made it such a special day!
