Last week Nicole brought us a zucchini from her dad's garden. Ella and I decided we would make zucchini chocolate chipp cookies with it yesterday. I have baked breads and cobbler but this is literally my first time baking cookies from scratch without my mom's assistance.
Ingredients
My little helper who stated "I love baking cookies, this is fun"
Pouring in the sugar
Pouring in the flour
By far the worst part was grating the zucchini
The dough after zucchini added
Batter with chocolate chips added
Ready for oven
Finished product
They actually turned out pretty good. They made a ton! I had to adjust the baking time after the first couple batches but we ended up with plenty
Ella and I have been trying new recipes to change things up a bit. Tonight we decided to make something different. A skillet meal with chicken, maple bacon, potatoes, apples, peppers, and onion. It turned out delicious!

Sunflower Festival
Ella, Grandma Jo Jo and I went to the Sunflower Fest at Gorman Heritage Farm this morning. There were hayrides, mule rides, pumpkin painting, sunflower cutting, music, food, etc as well as the tour of the farm.
Checking out the pumpkins
My child's hair is getting out of control
Ella loved painting the pumpkin and did such a great job!
There was even a pumpkin slingshot!
We spent quite a bit of time in the children's garden
Posing with Grandma Jo Jo
Posing with mommy as she is mooing like a cow
We checked out the animals on the farm
This pig had itself crammed in its trough and just laid there eating food and snorting
Ella grinding corn
We took a mule ride
We were able to go in the sunflower field and cut sunflowers to take home. I couldnt get very good pics as Ella was tired and literally kept falling down in the field
Listening to music with grandma
Grandma Jo Jo bought some tomatoes and lettuce to go with lunch
The farm wore.ella.out! Shortly after we got home and had lunch she began screaming and crying and announced "I need nap". We had a fun time and were glad grandma was able to go with us!

today was a good day
It felt like fall today and its definitely starting to look like fall
Tom went to the office to study this AM so Ella and I decided to hit up Recreation Outlet inside Kids First. They have large indoor playsets, trampolines, little rollercoaster cars, kitchen sets, etc. We actually ran into a girl and her twin boys that I grew up with. Ella was in love with her little boys and they played nicely together aside from boys being rambunctious boys! I took my small camera which seriously takes crap pictures.
Airplane toy
Rollercoaster cars
And I know, I know! But I couldnt resist this next pic. The family bathroom had a child's toilet just Ella's size
This evening Ella finally got some daddy time
While I did a little shopping
and got my hair cut!
I came home to find this :)
Tomorrow Grandma Jo Jo is coming and we are heading to Gorman Heritage Farm for Sunflower Festival. After that Ella and I are going to bake zucchini chocolate chip cookies.
